Risby Valais Blacknose

In 2019 we established a small flock of valais blacknose sheep, 'the cutest sheep in the world'. As a breed originating from the swiss Alps they seem to appreciate the altitude of the Lincolnshire Wolds and have settled in well.

We do not intend to vastly increase this flock , as Lincolns are our main passion, however, we are certainly enjoying their unique company!

Valais wool has very similar properties to Lincoln, its long and with crimp and lustre. The fleeces are much lighter. Valais are clipped twice yearly to prevent felting, so the length never usually exceeds 20cm.
